Status Window redraw problem (CMUD v3.34)

To optimize my Status Window, I use several fonts including <font courier 8> for monotyping columns and <font Calibri 12> for character status. Regardless of what font size is assigned, the status window gives each line 12 points. So, if I try to use a font that's bigger than 12, it cuts off the bottom of the line above it. And if it's smaller than 12, then there's a gap between the lines that doesn't get redrawn.

What do I mean it doesn't get redrawn? You know what happens when a program locks up, but the Windows OS is fine... if you drag an active window across the window of the frozen program, it leaves a trail of images. Well that's what happens with the Status Window. The effect is, if I have any window obstructing the Status Window, then is removed (moved, minimized, closed, etc), the image remains except where there is type, so the list of items in 8-point font is virtually unreadable because it looks like Venetian blinds with the horizontal bars. I can clear the problem up by playing with windows and moving the Status Window to force it to redraw (though the lines are often persistent and I want it docked and unmoving), or define it with only 12-point fonts, which allows for less information fitting on each line.

Ideally, redefining the font size should change the vertical alignment so smaller font will allow more lines to fit. Ultimately, I'd be happy if it would just redraw.

Any suggestions of things I might be missing? Does anyone else experience this same issue?

I discovered that the status window is for the currently focused session window, so if I click on a secondary window, it blanks out completely. So, when I have extra crap in that window, I can clear it by clicking on a secondary window then on my main window again, and it clears up. I'd prefer that it doesn't get stuff on it in the first place, but a workaround is good too.
