My Autosipper has broken and I don't understand why, nor how to fix it.

I was hunting and when the trigger that indicates I can sip again fired something like this:
"??????????????????????????????????...??????????" was sent to the mud.
After I died I looked into the trigger and then followed it to my 'trytosip' alias and found that my code was replaced with the question marks in the value field.

I rewrote the code in the value box and then clicked save.
I clicked on a different alias and then clicked back to the trytosip, which was once again only filled with ????

I did this once more and then closed the client and reopened it to try again. Again the "???"s

So, I decided to cut the alias out and write the code straight into the 'you can sip again' trigger.
I clicked save and then went out and back in, now the entire you can sip again trigger is filled with this:

'???????????????????????????????…?????????…???????????????}??'
there's also a weird 'ACK' highlighted in white with a black background tagged onto the end of it.

Could someone please tell me how to fix this? Anything I touch in my system gets ruined.

I wanna say corrupted package, but that looks worse.

Export to xml
delete/rename package
start fresh or import from xml

I can make a wild guess that it was a mess with unicode, setting(s) text was copy-pasted from somewhere (say, web browser) but simple Notepad. Or maybe you play in non-english MUD?

Anyway, do what shalimar suggested.

Doubt it unicode, it happens to me sometimes too: like you edit trigger line and at some point all text turns into ????, if you delete last changes, sometimes it turn back into letters
