[3.34]BUG: %roommode does not save upon exit

This has probably happened in previous versions, too, but if you set %roommode(0), it does not save upon exiting CMUD.

It may be a bug, but I think it is, more likely, a design flaw. The reason that it happens is because the mapper settings are enforced at each load so if you have checked use Room ID instead of vNum in the map properties, that will be the mode when mapper starts.
Perhaps, what %roommode should do is check and un-check this box instead, or in addition to, keeping the state in a temporary flag.

EDIT: Actually, I just ran a test. %roommode does toggle the properties checkbox. So the checkbox is initialized with whatever value was manually set (by checking or un-checking the box), then checkbox is updated with the current room mode but the database is not updated.

Actually this is by design. If you need %roommode set a certain way you need to add it to your scripts, or put it in an onLoad event.
