Completely new at this and having connection troubles... |
Well, not that new - actually I've been using zMud for years now, but a month or so ago I suddenly started getting disconnected from games. A few moments idle and the link would drop but cMud wouldn't report it happening and I'd only find out about it when I tried to do something. So figuring it was a Windows issue, I upgraded to cMud. No dice.
So it sounds like it's one of them there ISP changes that's been discussed in other threads and I went looking for a keepalive gizmo or some such that would keep the game connected even if I wasn't up to anything, but aside from confirming that Preferences->Network->Connection has the keepalive box ticked (it does) nothing I poked or prodded helped.
Soooo, what I need is a nice, simple piece of code I can type once that cMud'll remember that'll send and receive a blank command or something to keep the channel open and I've never played with the coding options of the client once in all those years. Anyone got anything that'll help at all? |

Code: |
#alarm {-60} {#send %cr} |
Paste the above into your command line. It will simulate pressing the enter key with a blank command line every minute just adjust the 60 to a smaller or larger number to suit your needs. |
