Room exits not working (Overdrive LPmud)

Hi,
I'm going to give Zmud another try, haven't used it since version 4 so I'm a bit rusty.
Here's my mud's output in full

A neatly-trimmed lawn of bright green grass slopes gently down here. A large oak tree rises high into the blue sky above, while a cobbled path passes away in all cardinal directions. Highgate lies to the east, and the green rises to the great Cathedral to the west.

-- There are five obvious exits: north, south, west, east and up.

and in brief

The green east of the Cathedral (north, south, west, east and up)

The mud has the setting (which I have activated) to disable word wrap.
If I try to configure for brief mode, it works but the directions in the room name get mapped as well.
If I try for full mode no matter what I do, what regex exit keywords I try, it won't pick up the exit line. I tried setting the exit line number to paragraph 0, line 1 and line 2. Nothing seems to work. I can't seem to get the keyline for brief mode to work either. I tried (*) as a keyword with exit line contains key, and tried ( with look for exits after key. Another problem is that the mud doesn't use standard 60hp etc foo> prompts. The > is all you get unless you turn on hp display in which case -=> HP: 62/62 EXP: 1453/2530 <=- get's pushed to the display every second or every time it changes depending on setting which seems to confuse the heck out of the mapper because when it does that sometimes you don't get the > prompt at all, sometimes you do. I was hoping the server side color options would let me change the color of the exits and I could use that to tell zmud where they were but the color options only work for spams like tells and combat etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
Jack.
