Background Image on Cmud Mapper

I've searched the internet and this forum but can't seem to find an answer. Are you able to set a background image for your maps in Cmud mapper? I know you can for Zmapper, but I was under the impression that Zmapper does not work with Cmud. Thanks!

you can use the map convert utility to make your maps zmapper friendly, otherwise i think you need cmudpro for more mapper functionality

To expand a bit:
Use the map convert utility (available at http://www.zuggsoft.com/files/MapConvert.zip) to convert the map to the old map format. Make your changes in Zmapper. then use the map convert utility to convert it back to v. 3.xx format. Cmud can display all of the zmapper enhancements just fine; you have to do the conversion because Zmapper doesn't recognize the new format.

Soo basically, without buying zmapper I cannot add a background image, correct? I just don't feel i can justify buying it JUST to add an image. I only say that because I'm not using it for complicated MUDs, and it's for pure convenience and orientation, not playability.

Upsetting to hear :( Anyone know any other tricks without Zmapper to get an image there?

That kind of map enhancement is exactly what Zmapper was designed for. Basic Cmud and Zmud were never intended to have that kind of advanced capability. Cmud Pro has the ability to interact directly with the map in more advanced ways, using the COM protocol described in the Zmapper documentation (you can get the docs for free). I can't recall offhand whether adding a background map is available through that interface. Cmud Pro does not have the advanced graphical interface of Zmapper. Zugg has been considering how to provide better advanced mapper support for Cmud 3.xx; this will probably be part of the next phase of mapper development.
