[3.31] Editor bug when saving to *.log

Not sure of any settings within CMUD that would cause this so I'm guessing it's a bug and a real pain in the rear. So I went to save a log tonight and it was kind of colorful so I wanted to preserve the colors. I highlighted about 2 1/2 hours worth of text from the MUD. Opened the editor and pasted all the text into it after a minute or two of watching the editor scroll down as the new text was added in, I went to save it. I saved as a .log file so I could pull it back up in the editor all nice and colorful. I closed the file in the editor and re opened to check that everything saved right and guess what It didn't. :( See the screen shot below Sorry for the large resolution but I did it like that so that everything would be visible at once. Notice I have my default font set to Courier New 14pt for my main session. When I paste the text into the editor this is what it is pasted as. But after saving as a .log file and reopening the colored text is now set to Arial 10pt which I did not do. This really sucks. I've tried on several different MUDs all with the same result.

Reproduction method.
1. Connect to any mud that has ANSI color.
2. Highlight a chunk of text that has the default session color as well as some special ANSI color sent by the mud.
3. Open editor.
4. Paste the selected text into a new file in the editor. (not the sessions editor file)
5. Select Save As from the editor file menu.
6. Set the file type to ANSI file in the bottom of the save window in the save as type box, and then name your file whatever you want with a .log extension.
7. Click save
8. Close the file in the editor.
9. Press CTRL+O
10. Change the type of file to open to ANSI files.
11. Select your file and open it.

When you saved the log, did you be sure to select the ANSI option from the list of file types in the Save As dialog?

Not sure about the font change. But the Editor font is normally set in the Styles Preferences in the Text Editor style. If you email me the *.log file, I might be able to look into it more here.

Step 6 is what you are asking about and yes I make sure the ANSI option is selected. I can send you a log file when I get home, what's the address? support@zuggsoft.com? In the mean time if you connect to any MUD with the public release for all of 5 seconds and it has an ANSI color intro screen and follow the procedure listed above you should be able to get your own log with the same problems.

Send it to sales@zuggsoft.com so it comes directly to me and not through our support helpdesk system.

Got the file, thanks. I'll try to take a look at it later this week.
