[3.30] Current LUA support state/possibilites? |
I've been out of the LUA loop for a good while. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that is using LUA with CMUD currently to make plug-in type windows "outside" of CMUD? Is it even possible to create a window that you could display something in if you wanted with just the LUA language? I figured I would get some advice before I got too deep into the current project I'm working on only to have wasted a bunch of time. Like say I wanted to create an window that had a image of a man with different armor slots highlighted. Would it be possible to click the window and have an alias sent to CMUD perhaps?

There are a couple options. All of them will be libraries external to CMUD, i.e. you should be able to download and load these windowing libraries to work with Lua in CMUD, but CMUD will not distribute this. This link lists several options, but your best bet is probably the Portable User Interface. Now I've not used this library myself so I can't speak to how easy or hard it would be, but it all seems doable.
