v3.24 released |
OK, hopefully v3.24 will fix the mapper once and for all. It should handle everything automatically now. As you create new rooms on a MUD using GMCP, it will mark those rooms as having a valid vNUM. And as you walk around the MUD in Map mode, CMUD will reset any vNum currently stored to the correct value from the MUD if the "Use vNUM to match rooms" option is enabled in the Mapper Speedwalking configuration. This option is enabled automatically when you Configure the Mapper on a GMCP mud.
When moving around the map, it will no longer pop you around to random rooms. It will only pop you to a room if the room has already stored a verified vNum from the MUD and the MUD says that you are currently in that room.
This *should* enable people with existing maps to continue using them, while slowly upgrading the vNum data as you explore. And yet people creating new maps on GMCP MUDs should be working right out of the box.
Crossing my fingers that it's finally working properly.

Is this behavior expected? (Only mentioning it here because I saw you posted there the same minute as I did so figured it was likely you didn't see that post and that it additionally wouldn't show you that there was an unviewed post in the thread.)

No, it shouldn't be asking for any new license key. Doesn't do that on any of my computers here. Make sure you have the proper file for your license. In other words, if you have a CMUD license, be sure you downloaded CMUD and not CMUDPro. And if you have a Pro license, be sure you didn't accidentally download the regular version. That's all I can think that would have caused it.
(and yep, I would have missed your other post ;) |

My fault, cMUD Pro used to be listed below cMUD in the downloads list so I just clicked the lower of the two without realizing they'd swapped places.

Ahh, that would do it ;) I also just re-uploaded the files in case that was causing the problem, so I apologize to anybody that I cut off in the middle of their download.
The order of the files in the list are based upon the order that I update them. I guess I accidentally updated the Pro entry before the regular entry this time. I didn't really pay attention. |
