about #PATH #SLOW and #PAUSE

so I have this path in Zmud Paths saved as:

Name: mobareaname
Path: ens10w
1.) The first thing I didn't get right was when I #SLOW mobareaname, it walks the first step which is east, walks east then zmud echoes "Slow walking aborted". Now when this happens, I then type #STEP (which should brings me to the next step which is north), but when I #STEP it turns out to be east instead of north. I did a test with my other fresh character also. Result is the same. What am I doing wrong? Basically I just want my character to walk ens10w slowly, and also be able to react to #PAUSE trigger.

2.) Supposedly I want to enter each room when I #STEP and then #PAUSE(can trigger anything on the room desc), then after 2secs trigger off and #STEP for the next room in #PATH.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

When using the #Slow you need the client to confirm each movement with an #OK. The next step will only be sent after the #OK is used other wise as you found out it will repeat the last direction continuously.

What I would do is use a recuring alarm #Alarm to issue the #slow Pathname command and trigger your command prompt to issue the #OK. You may have to find something else that would work for your mud.

eg after every direction send "glance at slowpathname" to the mud. You'll probably get a reply saying "You can see no slowpathname here!". Perfect for your #OK confirmation trigger.

Give the alarm a name so when you need to pause you can deactivate it with #T- AlarmName
and #T+ AlarmName to turn it back on.

Also check out the "slow walk time out" settings somewhere in the peferences. You may want to increase that to get rid of the Slow walk aborted message.
