[3.22] Composer No Longer Works |
Up until now I have never had a problem composing texts in game. However, with the release of 3.22 the composer no longer opens in Cmud when I go to write a letter or make a news post in the IRE mud.
How do I get this to work manually? |

CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER, there are other ways to get to it as well.

Can you remind me of the commands to use in Achaea to test the composer? It's probably related to the changes made to the Editor to add the Languages feature. But it's been a while since I played Achaea so I need help reproducing this.
Edited: Oh, and it might also be related to the fact that CMUD 3.22 doesn't implement most of the new GMCP functions yet. So try turning off the GMCP support and just enable the normal ATCP support. You can't run both at the same time. I'll probably "fix" 3.23 so that it disables GMCP if it sees that you are already using ATCP in an existing session. |

For the news, you select the section you wish to read or write to and enter WRITE where it opens the editor/composer. Then you enter the name of the person you are composing the article to and the subject line. From there it takes you into the composer where you enter line by line the article or message. For letters you simply enter WRITE LETTER and it takes you into the editor.
Help Editor in Achaea has all the commands concerning the composer/editor. |

Did you confirm that the problem still exists if you turn off GMCP and just enable ATCP?

I'll get back to you on that. I rewrote my stuff to work with GMCP. If I can get a moment where someone or something isn't attacking me, I will switch back to ATCP and head to the news room and let you know.

This works with ATCP in 3.22 so I guess it is GMCP causing the problem. I thought GMCP was supposed to be all better but so far it sucks.

Hey, calm down OldGuy! You are obviously frustrated in your recent posts and I think you need to take a break. I already mentioned in the release notes for v3.22 that GMCP is not complete yet. GMCP *is* better and it does *not* suck. The problem is that 3.22 only has a bare-bones implementation for it so far. |
