as written only via #KEY does it work, I can't create a macro and then press the key combo I want in settings manager?

As mentioned in the documentation for Editing Macros:
Quote:
Key
This is the name of the key that the macro is assigned to. If you click on this field, a help message will be displayed at the bottom of the window instructing you to press the Enter key and then press the key you want to assign the macro to.

So you need to press the Enter key and then press the key combo you want to use.
