Mapping question |
I'm trying to map in Aardwolf and getting a couple of errors. When I configure the mapper it seems to configure fine, but it picks up the final ] of the exit line as a sw exit. I don't mind that much, I can always go in and delete it each time I move.
The second bug is the really annoying one. It doesn't pick up movement. I can move after I configure and it just doesn't map at all. I've got it on "edit the map" setting because I can go in and delete the sw exit, but it just doesn't add any more rooms after I configure it. This means I have to run the configure each time I move in order to map an area - which is a real hassle.
Any advice would be great. |

Zugg always says otherwise, but I've never really been able to get Aardwolf to map "out of the box". #TAG triggers make all the problems go away, though, and the #TAG triggers get really easy to handle when you turn on the mapping tags (HELP TAGS in the game).

I've tried it with tags on and off, neither makes any difference. It's not what the mapper is picking up during configuration, it's correctly ignoring the mini-map and getting the right room name, description and exits (well, mostly), but it won't map the next room once I move into it. It just doesn't seem to register that I've moved and keeps me in the same room.
If I run the reconfigure for each room I move into then it works, and will correctly move me around already mapped rooms, but it won't handle mapping new rooms automatically. |

Reminds me of something I tried to say a while ago.. The room created as part of a reconfigure isn't detected in quite the same way as rooms when walking around. It wasn't always this way though..

Moo, if you are trying to get help for a specific problem, you should probably make a separate post, with details.
