[3.17+] Suggestion: Short/long direction name conversion function. |
Just a function that would convert a single or series of directions between their full/long name (ie: north) and short name (ie: n).
Something like:
%dir( "east", "short")
%dir( "east|north", "short")
%dir( "e", "full")
%dir( "e|n", "full)
Obviously this is something that can already be done using a user-defined function, but I thought it'd be useful. |

you mean like %pathexpand() and %pathcompress()?
For simple suggestions like this, the Command/Function/Scripting References can be your friend--and you're likely to learn a few things along the way, too. |

Those commands are not at all what I'm looking for.
What I'm suggesting is a simple command that would turn "e|n" into "east|north." and vice-versa. |

There's one problem with your suggestion, General. Currently, directions do not have an "official" long name. Zugg would have to add a new parameter for directions to fill that function. Is there a specific reason you want to do this?
