When reporting a bug, best methodology |
I have reported two bugs, specifically against the new version, even though the bug may have already been noticed in older versions. Would it be better to update a post with version [3.12] for instance, or create a new one specifically tagged with the current version the bug exists in that you are using? In my case, I have been choosing to open a new post as it makes it much easier to see the bugs for the current version.
Just hoping to get some clarification on the best way of handling this. |

If there is already an existing post about a bug, just posting more information to that report is actually better than opening a new post. My bug tracking database only has a single field for linking to a forum post/URL, so if there are multiple posts about a single bug, it's harder for me to track it here.
However, before posting you should also be sure to review the Version History to see if the bug has been reported fixed or not.
Also, as always, remember to post detailed step-by-step instructions on exactly how to reproduce any bug you are reporting. |
