Windows 7 features for CMUD/TeSSH |
Just a quick teaser for the next Beta version (hopefully due this Friday). I found some *excellent* Windows 7 components for Delphi (http://www.gumpi.com/Blog) and have added some cool Win7 support into the next version.
1) Jump List support: Any session that has a Session ID value filled in will be added to the Jump List that you get with the pinned icon on the Win7 task bar. This lets you right-click on your pinned CMUD/TeSSH icon and select a session and immediately connect directly to the session.
2) Icon status: With Windows 7, the old status icons showing green, red, yellow, etc stopped working. Using the Win7 progress bar support, I have fixed this so that the Win7 icon will reflect the CMUD/TeSSH status properly. When a window receives text, the icon will turn green. When in the middle of connecting, the icon will animate. When disconnected the icon will be red. When disconnected and automatically reconnected the icon will be yellow. This effect looks *really* nice on Windows 7...much better than the old status icons.
3) Thumbnail and multiwindow support: This mostly already worked. But when you have a floating window and click on the system icon in the upper-left corner and select the "Task bar icon" option, you'll get a stacked taskbar icon for that window along with the popup live preview.
Anyway, some cool new stuff to look forward to! |
