Link in MUD ? |
Hi, today a connect to a mud (Ancestral) and I found a clickable link that open a browser to the mud website. I thought that it was a MXP command that enables link, but I try with Telnet, PuttyTel and I see the same link but unclickable.
Can someone explain me how it is possibile, this is a zMud/Cmud features or is specific to a particular protocol ? How can I use that in my mud ??

It would be either an MXP tag (as far as I know, no other protocol that ZMud supports has anything to create a clickable link) or you have a trigger that is matching the link and replacing the text with an MXP version.
Games can implement the MXP protocol, which would handle the server-client negotiation phase. My guess is that this is what Ancestral was doing, and since ZMud returned the proper yes response it sent a clickable link. |
