[3.10a] Corrupted Session? |
So I just clean installed CMud. And upon connecting to a session it freezes for like 10 minutes it is also a brand new session. I haven't made any triggers yet. I'm using Windows XP SP3.
Here's what the Script debugger shows.
Code: |

Well, one problem that I see is that the MUD you are connecting to is only sending a character as a newline. The Telnet protocol standard requires MUDs to send (/r/n) as the newline sequence at the end of lines.
But I'm not seeing anything in the log file output that would cause CMUD to hang. Post the Port number that you are connecting to chaosmud.com with so that we can try connecting from here. |

I was able to connect to chaosmud.com port 1111 just fine from both of my computers here (new sessions). Both on XP and Vista. So I'm not sure what is causing the problem.
Have you ever had *any* session connected to chaosmud before? If so, maybe it is still loading some old session files?
Try clicking the Edit Session action and go to the Files/Packages tab and change the name of your primary settings file to something new to allow CMUD to make a new session and layout file for you.
Otherwise, if you still get disconnected you might contact the MUD to see if your IP address is being banned for some reason. |

Yeah, it's only some sessions that freeze, not all. It also doesn't always happen. Changed the package name and stuff and it still freezes.

Try holding down the SHIFT key when you connect to the session to reset the window layout file in case it got corrupted somehow.

Holding down the shift key isn't working either.

I have no idea then. Does it also happen with the 2.37 public version? You might need to remove (backup first) all of your CMUD files in My Documents/My Games/CMUD and then reinstall CMUD and create a fresh new session.
As I said, I cannot get it to fail connecting to this MUD on any of my computers here with either v3.10a or v2.37. So it has to be some data file still on your computer somewhere.
Oh, make sure you don't have any DEFAULT.PKG file anywhere in your CMUD directory (or in the Packages sub directory). I remember some people that had a problem because of that file from using older versions of CMUD.
You should also try using "ping chaosmud.com" from a Windows Command Prompt window and make sure you don't have any network packet loss that might be causing Windows to lag the network connection. |

Some of the triggers that had variables in it did have the varref to another session even though they had the same variables as well.

I don't understand. If you renamed the primary PKG file as I mentioned above, then you should have *clean* sessions with no triggers or anything in them.
