cmud (3.34) underlining bug?

Hello everyone!

I've found a problem. I play Discworld (discworld.atuin.net) and I play about 5-10 hours a day. 2-3 times a day somthing happens and cmud will start underlining EVERYTHING from this point on, I have no idea what triggers it, but I do have a screenshot of what I'm talking about. the only fix i've found to the problem is restarting my client. That means reloading my maps, and its getting really annoying! :( Please reply if you need anymore questions answered!

Any ideas on whats causing it or how to fix it?

Sounds like the MUD is missing an end-underline mxp tag. Does it always start at the same place? If it does, you could try reporting it to the MUD admins. For the time being, you can turn it off locally with #mxp "</U>".

I also experience this issue on a regular basis, I think it may be caused by typing something at the same time as you receive a line that has a MXP underline in (and so interrpting the MXP when you get Queued command: chat whatever for example), but I'm not sure

Going to Layout -> Empty Scrollback works as a workaround but of course you lose everything it's almost as bad as restarting the program :(

Does anyone know the official way to report bugs or is this the main place?

The issue is buried in the MXP code. If you want to fix it on your end, stop using MXP.

That's like saying if you don't like the problem turn the program off...

You have reported the bug. It will go on the bug list. It is not a critical bug (it does not prevent anyone from using Cmud). The bugfix will go into the next release that comes after the bug is tracked down. There is no schedule yet for the next release. In the meantime, if it is a problem for you, the only solution is to turn off MXP or ignore it.

I still think the issue is mudside though... I've never had problems with cmud ignoring an end-underline MXP tag.

It's not Mudside. It happens on Aardwolf, too, which doesn't have MXP implemented--not even in the almost-kinda way using general XML that some games do.
