Zmapper Auto-Map Not Mapping

I just started the ZMapper in 3.02 version.

I turned on mapper and configured it. It configured perfectly. I made a new zone and I have "MAP" on, and there is a little blue dot....but when I walk around nothing happens. No following/creating new rooms mapping the layout.

Please help!

Do you actually mean zMapper, the external product sold by Zuggsoft, or do you mean the mapper built into Cmud? If you mean zMapper, that product does not work with the 3.x beta versions--3.x uses a new database which zMapper does not understand. A new cMapper product will eventually be written to work with the new mapper.

If you mean the builtin mapper in Cmud, then first of all you should post your question on the Cmud Beta Forum. 3.x is currently a beta product, still in development, and issues should be posted there so that bugs can be properly tracked. Second, 3.02 is not the most recent version of the beta--we are up to 3.10. 3.02 has many bugs which have been corrected in later versions. If you want to help beta-test the new mapper, try the latest version and see if you still have a problem.

I think she was just looking for basic help using the mapper in CMUD. She posted in the zMapper forum and I told her to post here. I wouldn't recommend pointing a new user at the beta forum.

Amanda: you should post some sample output of moving around your MUD. If the mapper configured, then it should create new rooms when in Map mode, but there might be something in the MUD output that is confusing the mapper.

Also, be sure to read all of the help topics in the mapper window Help menu. The mapper is a rather advanced feature of CMUD and assumes that you already know how to use Triggers.

Sorry, I didn't mean to direct a new user to the beta forum. She said she was using version 3.02, which confused me.

To be honest I have no idea which one i'm using... I"m actually using . 3.10

Okay Ill show you some screen shots.

The 3 photos is of my configuring the Mapper. No idea if this is consider Zmapper or AutoMapper. I read the helpfile, everything mentioned about automapper, but still no idea. The last photo is of me walking around...and obviously nothing moving.

For auto-mapper do I ned to set up triggers???

One other box showed up...but I have no idea how, and that's it.
Thanks.

This is the automapper. zMapper is a separate product, that you have to pay for separately, and it doesn't work with version 3.x of Cmud.

In your first two screen shots, you are not in mapping mode. I think you need to be in mapping mode to configure the mapper.
