Cmud Hangs. |
When I log onto a mud Cmud hangs, it happens at random.
Sometimes it gets through autolog and then hangs on the next trigger or it'll just get through the user/password part then hang.
Anyone else have this problem
I'm using Win Vista + the New Cmud Beta though it was doing it in the current public version. |

Is this a new mud session or one you already have triggers for? and does this happen on just one mud or any mud?

it's already got triggers, i don't play any other mud so I can't say it happens for all muds.
the triggers all have no-errors when i've checked with triggers disabled.
I'm pondering over deleting the settings and re-installing the triggers I should have a copy somewhere. |

It sounds like you have something with your triggers causing a problem.
To check, i'ld make a NEW session to the same mud and see if you can log in.
If you can i'ld try to use the xml export on your old triggers and re import them into your new session.
If you have a problem importing ALL of your settings i'ld import them in small chunks to narrow down to what settings are causing the problem. |

When making a blank session to test a MUD like this, click the New Session action and enter the hostname and port for the MUD, but *IMPORTANT* you need to change the TITLE field to something different than your previous session so that CMUD will create a new folder and new package file. If you enter the same title as the old session, then it will just load the same settings and scripts that you were having problems with before.
If you don't get any hang using a blank session, then you can go back to your original session and use the "Open Offline" action, then open the Settings window and then do a File/Export All to save your scripts to an XML file. Then exit CMUD and restart CMUD and use the "Open Offline" action for the new blank session that you created above. Go into the Settings window and use the File/Import to import the XML file you just saved. Then close the Settings Editor and select File/Reconnect to connect to the MUD and see if it hangs.
If this still hangs, then you can restart CMUD, use the "Open Offline" action for your new blank session (which now contains your original scripts), and then open the Script Debugger window from the Window menu. Makes sure all of the messages in the Messages menu are enabled. Then select File/Reconnect and the script debugger window should show you which one of your triggers or scripts are running when it hangs. |

Thanks Zugg,
Your suggestion worked great, only took a hour to manually put my triggers back in still haven't figured out which one caused the problems though. |
