[3.06] Bugs resizing the map window |
- When maximising the (undocked) Map window, only the border size of the window changes, it leaves a big grey gap blocking most of the screen out for some reason, while only keeping the viewable/usable part of the map the same size as it was before it was maximised:
Can workaround, tho frustratingly, by flicking between zones a few times
- When resizing the map window after undocking it, completely messes up:

edit: SORRY this is 3.06, not 3.07, I should have checked properly first sorry, I just assumed I had the latest version because it was a fresh install - I think it's likely I'll have the same problems since it doesn't say fixed in the version history, if it does fix it I'll post back here in an hour or so if not it's still broken ( :( ) |

Hmm, I cannot reproduce this problem at all on either my Vista or WinXP systems. What version of Windows are you using?
It looks like you either have the Windows Theme system turned off, or are using some other theme software since your screen shots do not look like standard WinXP or Vista. So I think that is causing part of the problem. |

Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
I haven't turned any systems off, but my theme is set to Windows Standard instead of the default vista theme (hate it, too cluttered)

This is another problem related to turning off your Vista Theme engine. Instead of setting it to Classic, you should use the default Aero settings and then go find an XP or Vista theme that you like better than the default, rather than just turning off theming completely.

I just tried it again, god it really is awful it even messes up my nice Firefox window.. I just don't like the flashy stuff at all I just want no frills for my PC
Are you really saying we can't have windows set to Classic Theme at all?? It seems really a bit odd I mean I know I'm not the only one that doesn't like vista's default bloated, visually-loud and frilly "TOMY PC" look :( one thing I immediately notice is I lose quite a bit of screen space as soon as it turns on it is literally bloated, for example 2 less icons on my quickstart than i had before cos it makes it all bigger and shinier
edit: It mean it should be a perfectly valid choice I think to have my theme set to Classic really not treated any different from other user definable stuff for PC, you really should support it :/
it's similar to the way supporting colour blind or partially sighted people who need the high contrast etc because well, I don't usually like to bring this up (I won't be using this pseudonym anywhere else and maybe not even here after I'm done with current stuff - most people do not know this about me and I prefer it that way because I try so hard to pass as normal) but I've got a form of autism (was diagnosed by professional psychiatrists in London at around 7 years old, quite rare in females), and like most people with autistic spectrum related stuff I am very sensitive to noise, more aware visually of my surroundings than average etc - some people just like total darkness to just get away from it all sometimes. I think this is probably related to why stuff like this bothers me so much it's just too "loud" and hard to concentrate on other things with all the visual distractions. (this short youtube video might help explain the kind of thing im getting at)
(even that doesn't seem to have fixed it tho either btw) |

Sorry, I was wrong about the Classic Theme. I didn't realize you were just setting the Theme to Classic. There is another low-level setting in Windows in the Compatibility tab that is the one which actually turns off the Theme engine, which is the one that I was talking about. Just using the "Classic Theme" in the Windows Theme selection dialog shouldn't have any problem. I also just set my Vista system to the Classic Theme and CMUD still worked fine. So sorry for the wrong information on that.
Looking at your other screen shot with the normal Vista theme, there is still obviously some problem. There must be some other software you are running on your computer that is interfering with the window resizing because I cannot reproduce that problem on any of my computers. Do you have *ANY* sort of screen software, like software that is part of your graphics card to do virtual screens or virtual desktops or anything else like that? |
