I've checked the manual but I can't seem to find a function that sends a character or text to the command line.

Here's the background:
I wan to use special characters (Like ®©°± etc.) that are supported by the muckMUCK, but that I don't have an easy shortcut on my keyboard for.

What I'd like to do is put all the characters into a multistate button and have then appended to the text in the command bar.

How do I do this?

You could use the %clip function to set them to the clipboard then paste them.

I gave it a try it but every time I hit the button it sent the character to the MUCK

At the bottom of your macros, there're three checkboxes. Uncheck "Send to MUD" and check "Append to command". Job done.

I'm not using a macro.

The #INPUT command can be used in a script to put text into the command line. However, it will replace the contents of the command line, not append a character. I'll add a way to append text to the command line to the wish-list for the future. What I'll probably do is implement a %input variable that retrieves the current contents of the command line or something like that.

Thanks. It would be very useful - I'm always having to hand links out. If I could hit a button and have the link dropped in, or a set of commonly used paths daisy chained together... or as I suggested, a character list to pick from!
