Wierd map display when moving rooms across zones Cmud pro 3.06 |
I seem to be having a strange but hard problem to duplicate. This is what is happening. I have two seperate zones that I wish to combine. I select all the rooms from zone 1 by select-->
Edit-->Move rooms to zone-->(highlight zone to move rooms to say zone 2)-->OK. What happens sometimes (very often) is that all I get is the black lines and no rooms drawn. I have tried refresh, and even closing the mapper but the rooms moved are neither selectable or movable no matter what I do. However if I close cmud all together then open the session and then the map the rooms are back and where they are supposed to be. I have tried to figure out how to reproduce this by using two different Muds even however at this point I do not know what causes it. Here are some screen caps of what happens...
This is the target zone
This is the rooms to move
This is the wierdness
But again IF I close Cmud and reopen it looks fine the way it supposed to be and I can edit and select the rooms again:
Anyone have any ideas? |

I've had this happen as well with 3.06... Not sure what causes it. But again, it only happens when you move rooms to another zone.

That is very odd. Do you notice that in screen 3, where it is not showing the rooms, the level is marked as 1, but in the other three screens it is level 0? I certainly have no explanation, but that may be another symptom. Since it is showing the same rooms as screen 1, it appears to be showing the correct level, with the wrong label.

Yeah I did notice that actually so I did try moving rooms that do not have multiple layers as well and sometimes it does it and sometimes it's ok. I have noticed though it only seems to happen when it is being moved to a zone that has quite a few rooms so perhaps it gets confused as to where to overlay the new rooms. Think Ill play with this a bit more.

I've noticed this as well before, but because restarting cmud fixes the problem, i'ld say it's a fairly insignificant problem in the graphics display portion of the code, and not something to do with actually moving the rooms.

True I would agree with you Wrym it's not a major issue or a show stopper. It is a pain though when you have to shut down a program and restart it to get it working properly especially since Zugg just reworked the mapper.
So as a beta tester I am sure he would at least want it reported. Also, with several confirmations it does, at least I think, warrant a buggy inspection from the exterminator ;-)
I know Zugg puts a large emphasis on the mapper since as he said it's what makes Zmud/Cmud stand out against the other clients. Which I would definitely agree with! So I think he would like to at least know about it. |

Sounds like part of the memory cache isn't getting updated properly (which is why restarting fixes it). I've added this to the bug list.
