I noticed earlier that page up and down worked here and was pleased, as do the up and down arrows....

However, left seems mapped to up and right mapped to down, meaning i cant pan across the map either.

Makes me wonder if a mouse with the tilt scroll wheel can properly pan. I don't have one to test.

The keys are just getting handles by the Windows scrollbar that is in the map window. I think the vertical scrollbar on the right has the keyboard focus by default, so Windows is grabbing your keys and handling them for that. When using a vertical scrollbar, Windows maps the left/right keys to up/down. There isn't any support for the tilt-wheel.

I'll add something to the wish-list for the future to try and intercept the scrollbars and pass left/right to the horizontal bar, but it's not going to be in the next version.

With a mouse, the preferred way to pan a map these days is to left-click and then drag the map around. The mouse wheel changes the map zoom scale and doesn't do any panning.
