v3.13 Beta release note |
Since this is the first build of CMUD using my new Windows 7 computer, I am releasing 3.13 for initial testing over the weekend. I have not updated the "Auto Update" or "Check for new version" files yet. If everything is looking pretty good, then I'll update those files on Monday.
As usual, still plenty of bugs left on my list. I didn't do much with the mapper in this version. I was giving priority to bugs that effected TeSSH. However, I did add the new MXP REPORT tag and the MXP via Telnet SB options as discussed over in the MXP Developers Forum. In addition, I improved the handling of the RoomNum tag so MUDs can now use the EMPTY command option like <RoomNum 123> or the XML version <RoomNum 123/> and the 123 argument will get properly passed as the room vNum. This vNum is also used when trying to determine a matching room when in map creation mode.
Lots of Windows 7 fixes in this version, so hopefully it will work better now. Hopefully the fixes applied to Delphi didn't break anything else. Do definitely look for any new bugs or problems that were in previous versions.
I'll try to get more mapper stuff fixed before the Public release. But TeSSH issues will still have priority. |

Btw, apparently nobody noticed that the Version History for all of 2009 was marked as 2008 :)

Based upon some of the bugs being reported, I am not going to update the "Check new version" files at this time. Looks like some of the changes have created some odd new errors. I am having trouble reproducing some of them, so I'm going to wait to get more input from other Beta testers. Then I'll try to release a new update next week.
I encourage Beta Testers to experiment with their sessions and scripts to try and narrow down some of these bugs, such as reported memory leaks and system freezes. I am not seeing any of those problems here, but it might be because CMUD is compiled for Win7 and I'm running Win7. So please also remember to post which version of Windows you are using in your bug reports.
Pleaseremember that the job of Beta Testing is to try and help isolate problems and to post good and useful bug reports. |
