%pref() def color values

I am considering other people's changes to non ansi/colorname values for the main window. I found a lighter dark color to be easier to read, but one darker then the options and off towards olives or slategray.

My question, in looking through prefs I found these:

DefColor
MessageColor
CommandColor
HighlightColor

But don't know what the key for the main window is after changes to hex?

Does anyone know?

Thanks

Those colors are not actually RGB values, but are internal attribute codes. In general, messing with %prefs isn't a good idea, which is why it isn't documented well. The internal structure of prefs and their values can change in any future version of CMUD. So it should only be used as a last resort vs using the GUI interface to the preferences. And XML based import/export of preferences is planned for the future.

Cool, that answered more then I had asked for, but had thought a lot about. Very Happy

I was able to get the RGB values from the colorpicker and was using MXP.

I really only wanted to call that displayed value, to use so informational messages from my scripts were not glaring contrast inside bars. My solution was just to create my own color keys in a pref db and used if statements, (god you must be busy, this rambled 100 more words), the db is more then adequate.

Thanks again.
