Error in cMUD.exe

I keep getting this error at least once a day:

"Not enough storage to process this command."

I don't understand because I have plenty of RAM and HDD space available.

I always try closing all other programs, but only sometimes this works.

The only sure way of fixing this is to reboot and wait for it to happen again.

I'm using Windos XP Pro 32bit with SP3.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix or a workaround?

What are you doing in CMUD when you get this error message? One cause of this error I have seen is if you have a Button defined in CMUD that is set to be too large for Windows to handle, but I'm not sure that sounds like the problem you are having. Also let us know what version of CMUD you are using.

Sorry, my version is 2.37. I use CMUD only for playing MUD games, so that is what I have been doing in CMUD each time this error occurs. I have not defined any buttons so that may not the problem you are talking about.

My scripting knowledge is extremely basic (I have only defined triggers, aliases, macros, variables and the status bar). Is it possible for any of these to be too large for window to handle? I have no knowledge of programming, so I wouldn't know what would be too large for windows to handle.

The last time this occurred, I only had Google chrome and a tv tuner software (fusionhdtv) open, but this is not typical.

Thank you for responding.

If it helps, I have 2GB DDR2 Ram with an Intel Core 2 Quad (Q6600) which I have used for 3D modelling applications and other high-end software which run very smoothly and do not run out of resources, but then again I don't know how programs operate under the hood so it could be something totally different.

When you get the crash, do you get the button choices of "Send bug report" etc? If so, please use that to send me the crash dump report. If sending it doesn't work, you can also click the "Show details" button to show the crash dump and post it here within [code] tags. That will show me the trace back to try and figure out what is responsible for the crash.

Yes, I do get the dialog box to send a crash report. I've sent several already (but I don't send every single time, otherwise you'll be flooded!), so you should have received them by now. Thanks for taking the time!
I still use the program every day, and apart from this irritating crash (that only resolves with a reboot) I do like using it, although sometimes I think I should have bought the zmud+free cmud offer.

Go ahead and copy/paste the crash dump into this thread, putting it between [code] tags. Or, tell me what username you used when you submitted the crash reports. The crash reports are automatted and get put into a giant database, so I'd like to figure out which ones belong to this specific problem.

Oh sorry! That was my email address. I believe the name I put down is Jonathan Lei.

OK, I found the crash dump. According to the crash, Windows is trying to draw a gradient background for a window panel that is too large for memory. I've never seen it do that before, so something is definitely messed up in one of your CMUD windows.

Try resetting your window layout. To do this, open CMUD and in the Sessions window, hold down the SHIFT key and then click the Open Offline action for your session. This will reset the docked window layout for the session. Drag your windows and dock them how you want and then exit CMUD to save the layout. It's possible you have some hidden window in your layout that is causing problems.

If that doesn't work, give us more information about what windows are open on your screen (in CMUD) when you get the error. For example, are you using the mapper, or the settings editor, or do you have any other floating capture windows, or what?
