[3.03a] Hi-lighting text over the split-screen divider flickers |
Summary:
This affects copying hi-lighted text when the window is in split screen mode, ie the top of the window has text that is stationary while the bottom half of the window has text that continues to scroll by. When I attempt to start selecting text above the divider and continue through the divider to the bottom text, the selected text flickers.
Steps to Replicate:
Code: |
1) Enter Cmud, escape to enter a blank session.
2) At the command prompt enter: #repeat 100 {#say hello}
3) Split your scroll-back screen by middle clicking in the window or clicking the split-screen button below the scroll bar.
4) Hi-light text from above the divider and drag your mouse down and across the divider while holding down the left mouse button.
You should see the hi-lighting flicker as you attempt this.
5) Alternately try this again by hi-lighting text from below the divider and dragging upwards across the divider.
You should see it doesn't suffer from the flicker this way.

Did this not happen in zMUD? I've experienced this in all versions of CMUD, and I think it's largely due to the fact that you're starting from a "stationary" point and going down to a more active screen instead of vice versa. The split screen really isn't stationary - it's moving up each line of text you receive. It just appears stationary. *shrug* it is a bit annoying, though. Don't know if it can be fixed.

There is a simple work around.... start highlighting from the bottom half instead.
Oh, you saw that already... this has been brought up before, dunno if its on Zugg's list or not. |

I'm pretty sure this started with Cmud. I recall noticing it when I switched over from Zmud to Cmud.

It's always done that for me, since ZMud.
