Changing folder path to a cloud. |
I can't figure this out for the life of me.
What I'm trying to do is point my files to a folder that is stored on a cloud so all my files are sync'd across all computers. However, everytime I try to start a new session, the folder is defaulted pointed to C:\documents\My Games\Cmud\whateverfolder
I'm trying to point this folder to a folder that is sync'd to a cloud.
Any ideas? |

It probably depends on exactly which cloud software you're using, and I assume you're using Vista?
Also, what exactly are you doing when you "point your files" somewhere? |

Yes Vista is the operating system
I can use a number of different cloud.
1. Live Mesh from Microsoft
2. SugarSync
Essentially, what I did was took my old "Mud" folders and put it in those cloud folders that are being sync'd to the cloud.
With SugarSync...the path is..
C:\Documents\My Magic Briefcase\zmud\Mud
Within the mud folder there is all the files .mud files, including the packages that Cmud converted created?
However, when I go into Cmud and edit the session for that specific mud, the path states
C:\Documents\My Games\Cmud\Mud
I can complete start over if I have to but what I did was from scratch...
1. Create New Session
2. In the "Files" section, I browse for the filename which then I go to the C:\Documents\My Magic Briefcase\zmud\Mud
3. I enter any other relevant information such as Title of the Session, Host/port if need be etc.
Once the session has been created, I noticed the path still points to Cmud directory?
Where to from here?
If anything I can start over again. |

Just a key note, I guess I could just add the folder for Sugarsync or Live Mesh to sync that specific folder but rather do it which I have described above.

Run the CMUD installer and it will prompt you for the location of your "data files". The default is %DOCUMENTS% (which points to My Documents/My Games), but you can select the Other option and enter the path to your data files that you want CMUD to use. This sets a registry entry that CMUD uses to determine your data files location. There currently isn't any way to change this registry entry from within CMUD itself. But running the installer again won't hurt anything.
