Can a parameter be added as to weather or not it should open a new window, or a new tab in the current window?

I'm not sure this is something CMUD has control over. CMUD just tells Windows to open a URL, and it's up to Windows which program to pick and up to the program what to do with it. I'm not sure which you want it to do, but I remember there being a preference in Firefox somewhere to control how that works, and mine opens in a new tab just like I want it to.

Different browsers have DDE topics you can send, some more then others. I think Internet Explorer is good about tabs, though it's been a while since I wanted #DDE from ZMud and did not find my inquiries on the web very well answered. I can't tell you the method of doing that, but that just playing with #DDE from ZMud was easy enough, yet I felt practically in the dark. You would want #DDE not #URL for that.
