CMUD + Server 2008

Greetings:

I purchased CMUD when it first came out but now am having to run a copy of Server 2008 x64 here locally to match a deployment environment. CMUD has worked fine in XP and Vista x64 but it refuses to load for me on Server 2008 X64.

So far I have not found any relevant information int he event viewer nor do I see any logs under the CMUD directory. Does anyone have any idea as to why my client won't load? PuTTY's driving me crazy. :)

Best regards,

JD Smith

Have you checked the DEP settings?

For all of this kind of issue, you can follow this way as below:
1.right click cmud execution file
2.click properties
3.switch to compatibility tab
4. select your program to run in compatibility mode for xxx as you want.

I have not used server 2008, but for microsoft always keep this for their OS, So I guess it work.

I recently had someone else email me with this kind of problem and Taz is correct that it ended up being a problem with the DEP settings. See this article: Windows Vista issues. Even though the article says "Vista", the DEP settings issue applies to Server 2008 too. Microsoft keeps turning this setting on by default on new OSes. And actually, it probably *should* be on for a server system. You just need to add CMUD to the exclusion list.
