Can't delete text label from my map!

I've read the help file, and filtered through these boards, but couldn't seem to see anything..

I've tried double-clicking like the help file says. Even made sure the file could be written too. If anybody has any more suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank ya!

Was the map in edit mode...Captain Obvious? Mr. Green I believe that just like in CMud, ZMud won't let you do deletion in follow mode or if the padlock icon is showing a locked padlock.

Beyond that, it may be attached to a room. Room labels are part of the room object and will move with the room, so you can't double-click them and delete them like the A tool labels. To delete room labels, you have to right-click on the room to bring up the context menu. From there, choose the Label submenu and then choose None. Note that in ZMud the label text is still there, so unless this fact doesn't bother you you need to go into the Room Properties, find the tab with the label info on it, and delete it there as well.

I can't seem to delete mine either.

I've done my stupid checks. I'm in edit mode, the file is writable, #echo %maplocked returns 0 (which means unlocked, though the icon remains a locked lock, bug perhaps?), and I have the text selected in a red box when I try to delete it/edit it/drag it.

Attempting to drag or double click just deselects the text box, and hitting delete does nothing. I can't right click the selected, either: it just gives me the 'Center' option as if I'm clicking the main backdrop.

Is it because I'm using a trial still?

In ZMud, the padlock and the explore/follow modes are two separate variables so it's possible to be in explore mode and in locked mode at the same time. If you have a locked padlock, click on the padlock to unlock it.

Also, I think you need to drag-select the label. Can't remember if they are click-selectable like in CMud (at any rate, the delete won't do anything if it's not bounded by the red selection border).

This is CMUD. Sorry, shoulda clarified.

And I have been drag-selecting them. They're red-boxed and all. If they're supposed to be click-selectable, mine aren't. -_-

And like I said, my lock never changes to an 'unlocked' graphic, but it does affect my my mapping. Click once, graphic remains locked, I can't edit anything. Click again, I can edit, graphic still remains locked.

CMud posts don't really belong in this folder. Wink If you have a CMud question, post it in the appropriate CMud folder (2.37 and below goes in the General forum, 3.xx goes in the beta forum).

Assuming you are using the public version, though, I think that's a bug. As long as you are in explored mode, however, you should be able to delete them just fine. If the mapper is docked, though, you won't be able to use any shortcuts. Can't remember if docked in general means other things break too, so you might want to undock to do your deletion and stuff.
