Stuck Button |
Hye folks. Really enjoying ZMUD.
I created a Gauge button to display an experience point bar. It was working fine the night I created it but the next day when I ran ZMUD it has become greyed out and not only does it no longer function but it is not in the button list. I created another one that works fine (so far) but the old button will not go away and since its not in the list I can't delete it or modify it.
Any help would be appreciated. :) |

This basically means something got corrupted in your settings file. If you created this button in a class folder, there's a way you might be able to remove it. If you can't complete that process, you will need to use the Migration Guide.
1)click on the class folder containing your button.
2)click on the Class Script tab.
3)scroll down the list until you see the #button statement that represents the button giving you problems. Write down the number you see there (it's immediately after the #BUTTON command).
4)from the command line, type in #UNBUTTON number, where number is the number you wrote down.
The problem button should disappear, and if you have system messages turned on you should see a message saying as much. |

Thanks Matt. This thing was driving me nuts.
I had not created the button in a class folder... I ended up deleting the entire folder for the mud I am on, modifying and getting rid of a couple of buttons from an export I sent a buddy a couple of days ago, imported the file, and I am errant button free now. I lost a couple of things but overall not a big deal.
I was never able to track down the specific offending code that was causing the issue but, "works", is well enough for me for right now while I'm still a noob.
Your help is appreciated. I would not have known what to do without having read the Migration Guide. |
