Trying to run zMUD 7.21 on Win 98

So I downloaded the 7.21 version of zMUD, installed it and set my registration to it. When I try to load it up I get an error message saying Chars: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.

I click the OK button and then it sits at the loading screen.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I usually use my laptop (which I am on right now) but my keyboard is taking a real beating so I busted out my dads old computer desktop to use the keyboard it has.

This is a stab in the dark, but you MDAC/ADO software may need updating. You can look at this link for suggestions on how to trouble shoot the problem and update the software.

I'm sure that is exactly his problem ;)

Of course... you could always just get a USB external keyboard for laptop...

Thanks for the help. That's actually what I ended up doing ralgith, no sense screwing around with a computer that is pretty much worthless and would have resulted in a lot of headaches. So I picked up a keyboard from Walmart today for 19 bucks that plugs into the USB port. So I'm all set. :)
