[2.30] An obscure bug with PE (no procedure found yet) |
I see this bug twice for this week, but still don't know what cause it. I post the symptoms in hope that others will keep their eye on this bug and catch it, sooner or later.
When you work with the editor (edit scripts, create settings) at some point instead of creating a new setting (via New... menu) it highlights the first top-level element in the tree (in my case it was "Auction" window, so it was first alphabetically). All subsequent attempts to create a setting with use of the menu also failed and the editor leapt to the first tree entry every time.
If you close\open the PE, nothing will change.
If you restart the CMUD itself, then you will find that all settings had been created in the right class with empty names. Clicking on them one-by-one in the tree results in their disappearance, as the editor removes entries with blank name when they get focus (or when they lost focus? I may be wrong here).
I have a clean install under WinXP with package recreated in 2.30 from xml |

I've seen this once only. Like you, I didn't notice anything specific that may have caused it.

I will see this happen each time I am in Aetolia ard am making frequent updates using the Editor. The only way I've found to cure the problem is to reboot CMUD.

I believe I have found something that can cause this to happen when triggers are running in the background while the PE is open. A workaround is to turn off the Auto Update option in the View menu. That will prevent the settings editor from updating itself when triggers are running in the background. Let me know if that prevents the problem from happening.

I've done what you suggested, Zugg. So far, I have not experienced the problem again. Thanks
