#gag suddenly broken

I'm sure its some setting that I've inadventantly messed up, but when I try to gag out lines from the mud to my client (which used to work perfectly), the screen kind of "jumps", and then the lines are printed anyway.

I'm using "#ACT {Your spiralling force} {#gag}", and the actual lines being sent are:

You stretch out your weapon and begin to spin violently!
Your spiralling force <--*--><--*--> IMPLODES <--*--><--*--> a small bird! [265]
Your spiralling force <-+-><-*-> CREMATES <-*-><-+-> a small bird! [228]
Your spiralling force <-=-> SUNDERS <-=-> a small bird! [186]
Your spiralling force <>*<> FISSURES <>*<> a small bird! [157]
Your spiralling force <-:-> ASPHYXIATES <-:-> a small bird! [138]
Your spiralling force -=- VAPORIZES -=- a small bird! [115]
Your spiralling force ***** PULVERIZES ***** a small bird! [102]

Anyone have an idea?

That happens because zmud can't process the lines fast enough.

Try #PRI {#gag} instead of just #gag
