[2.29] Mapper bug?

When reconfiguring the mapper config using the automapper setup wizard it adds random exits to the room in the map marked as current position.

This can just as easily be a problem with detecting things correctly. What MUD, what room, etc should get you some more assistance with finding why you had this problem.

I'm not particularly sure how it's doing it, but most of the time I see extra exits it's because the extra exits appear in the room description. The proper exits line is always found, so I'm not sure why ZMud/CMud pulls exits from multiple locations like this.

Make sure you set the Exit Keyword field in the exit configuration. Then CMUD will only look at the exit words in lines that contain the exit keyword. For example, it's common to use "Exits" as the keyword since most MUDs include that text in the list of room exits. CMUD is not able to detect the keyword text automatically, so it's always something you need to fill in manually to improve the configuration.

CMUD allows exits on multiple lines because some MUDs have exits on multiple lines or the exit line wraps.

Hmmm sorry for not posting my problem clear enough.

At the moment I reconfigure my mapper with the wizard. I do not want it to alter my maps.. but it does, it adds exits to the room that is at that moment marked as my location in the mapper.

Ow and to answer the other question: Achaea is the MUD i am playing.

The reconfigure wizard will always alter the current room based upon whatever is detected from the MUD during the autoconfig.

If you are using Achaea, then just make sure you have ATCP enabled in your session preferences (and have MCCP turned off). You don't need any other mapper configuration with the ATCP support in CMUD, so if you imported a mapper configuration from zMUD or an old version of CMUD, you might want to get rid of it and start fresh with the ATCP support, which is much more reliable for mapping IRE muds.

Ok, that seems to work... in the mean time I upgraded to 2.30....

Somehow my #find command only works in one of my areas. I can't get it to work in any other area's... as soon as i step one room into the next area it simpy stops doing anything. I am not sure if I have effectively lost all the settings I had originally imported from zMud. Hence two questions:

1) how to get rid of all settings and start fresh with the ATCP support?
2) any idea what could be causing this thing with find only working in one area and not in the others?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you don't have a map filter set before you start using #find:

#call %mapfilter("")

To get rid of all settings, just create a new session and point it at the right host and port. It'll have all-new settings as long as it has a unique name (with ATCP enabled by default).

You can also delete the *.ZFG file that is in the same directory as your *.MDB map file. The ZFG file is where your mapper configuration is stored.
