v2.27 ETA

Since several of the new bugs in 2.26 are still hard to reproduce, I'm not going to release the 2.27 version to fix these new problems until next week after I have collected more information from more testers.

So please use 2.26 as much as you can this weekend and report as many details about how to reproduce any problems. The easier it is to reproduce, the quicker I'll be able to fix the bugs. v2.27 will be the last 2.x version of CMUD. After that, I'll be working on the new v3.x series with the new mapper stuff.

Still working on a few more bugs. I'm hoping for Wed or Thursday for the 2.27 release.

Fixed more bugs today and still not done yet. So look for the release on Thursday. I only have a couple of minor issues left to try and reproduce, so as long as I don't find *more* new bugs (like I did today), then a release on Thursday should be pretty easy.

Sorry 2.26 was such a mess. Maybe *someday* I'll get a decent CMUD version released. It's really being stubborn and frustrating.

In reality, Zugg, 2.26 runs quite well (bugs aside). I find it a lot more stable than 2.25 and way better than 2.18. Unfortunately, applications of this size can only be really tested live because it is impossible for the developer to think of all the possible ways someone might attempt to use it. I am betting that CMUD 7.21 will be awesomely stable.

Any time people say that, though, I end up thinking of all the crazy-ass stuff you have to do to get zMUD to do what you want. <> and [] spring to mind, as well as "%-1" and stuff. You have to do plenty of catering to zMUD's idiosyncrasies in 7.21, too ;)

Oh, no doubt about that, but since CMUD is built on the experience gained by the development of zMUD, it is already way ahead of the game. My blood pressure is certainly lower since I switched to CMUD (though, not at the beginning!) Laughing

The only real issues I have is that one with the "There must be one field" which will take care of almost 90% of the errors I have recieved with 2.26. After 2.27 I dare say it should be where you had hoped it would be Zugg.

I got the "There must be one field" error (i forget where i read that error, sorry) today too. Was trying to open a second session at the time. Can't remember much more than that, I just remembered it mentioned, closed cmud, and started again with no problems.

I just released v2.27, so please upgrade from 2.26 to 2.27 to get away from this serious "must be one field" bug.

I'm not going to update the automatic update feature in CMUD (the Check for new version) with the new version until tomorrow to give people here in the forums the first chance for the new version and to test for any critical issue that might require a quick fix.

I played a MUD with 2.27 for a while this afternoon and it seemed to be working well for normal usage. As always, please post a NEW topic in the forum to report any problem with the new version, and put [2.27] in the subject line.

Thanks for your help and patience with the 2.26 version. Hopefully 2.27 is much better.

OK, I haven't seen any real emergencies with 2.27, so I went ahead and updated the "Check for new version" database. So now anyone using an older version of CMUD should get an update notification the next time they run it. Crossing my fingers that all goes well.
