can you create the option for an event to be "disabled on startup"

this would be similar to the trigger option that does the same thing...

Triggers don't have that option. I think maybe you mean classes. If you put the event into a class that is disabled on startup, then it will get handled just like a trigger.

Or, in your onLoad event you can use #T- to disable an event manually.
