i have the 7.21 but it keeps telling me no dat files found i cant get it to work

Or a friendly moderator can move the topic to the correct forum. I can't say I have ever seen that error. Can you describe what is on the screen when the error is displayed in more detail? Is the splash screen displayed, or did the main window come up? If it is during the splash screen, then what stage does it say it was doing? Things like that would be helpful.
