Automapper |
Ok I give up! My MUD of choice uses an overhead land map with markers in it and i have no need to map the overland map as it is well....already a map right on the screen. Once inside the markers however it returns to a regular mud window with exits room desrip yadda yadda. I figured out how to use the mapper and have an entire zone mapped, my problem is when i run across the overhead map after leaving that zone (marker) and entering another zone (marker) it tries to link to the old zone. Is there any way to just create a new zone and not have it linked into the other zone, or make it so that they dont overlap each other. My old zone always super imposes itself over top of my new map! Help! its driving me nutso!

Turn edit/creation mode off when you leave the zone. Use follow mode or off mode instead.

I have done that and it works, but when i get to the next marker and go zone, new zone, it brings up a box, i name it, then how do you start a new map. the first time i went hrough config wizard but when i do that again nothing pops up, like how do you get the first box in your map to show up so you can start mappingÉ

WHen you have your nice fresh new zone you have to click on the box on the left for a new room.
Then click on the blue emptiness to drop the new room.
Then you click on the little set pin to mark the room as where you are.
After you have done all that you should be ready to begin. |

After you've done this, move out of the current room. Delete the room you dropped (because all its fields are blank), then move back into that room to recreate it with the fields filled in.
You don't create a new map file each time you want to map a new area. You use the same map file, but new zone. There's an option for that on one of the menus, I think the Zone menu. |
