bug in new release? Text Color

After upgrading to the new public version my mud text all appears in white with a black background. If I open Preferences, click Styles Tab, and then OK (not making any changes) the mud text goes back to the normal green color.

This isn't really a bug per se. It was decided in the forums a while that the default text color should be gray and black. What is a bug, is that the default when you open the styles is still set to green and black, so when you say ok, it gets updated with your 'new' preferences.

How do i get it to go back to the green and stay that way. Each time I exit cmud and go back in, it changes back to white. I really don't care what the default is, but I want it to stay the way I set it, without it reverting back.

The default is silver on black. How are you loading your package? Try doing a clean install and not installing over a previous version. Something you are doing is causing the problem because we are all downloading the same client.

The problem still exists even after uninstalling cmud and reinstalling new.

I also tried pressing Escape to start a new empty session, connect to my Mud and the same issue

When I start a new session and log into the mud the mud text is displayed as White on Black. I don't like this color. If I go into Pref, Styles, hit ok -- I don't make any changes just hit OK or Apply. The mud text goes back to the way I want it. Green($00B300) on black.

I wish I could get it to stay Green on black instead of having to reset it each session.

It's not white on black. Where do you get white on black? Just based upon what you have said so far, I doubt anyone has a clue what the problem is. How are you installing? Are you deleting all traces of CMUD before installing 2.25? Try exporting your settings to XML, delete all traces of CMUD after uninstalling. Then install 2.25 and reimport your settings from the XML file.

Sorry, it looks like white on black on my monitor, but it very well could be silver on black.

Have you tried clicking on the defaults and 'changing' them that way? From what you've described thus far, you're clicking 'ok' or 'apply' which is applying the "default" scheme and you've already said you don't like the default scheme. What the menu shows appears to be buggy, but if you haven't tried actually changing the color instead of accepting the default as-is, you're not really changing anything in your session in a permanent way.

I just tried changing them, when I open the pref and go to style and default session, the green on black is already shown, so I could not change it to that, since its already there.

Instead I randomly picked some different colors and changed it temporarily to that.

Apply, closed and restarted zmud. Now the weird colors I picked are there, so I went back into pref and changed it back to the green on black. It seems to be staying green on black after restarts now, hopefully it will stay.
