[2.25] bug / crash when speedwalking and changes zones. |
I have made posts in the past about this Crash, it happens when entering a Zone, and Ive been through atleast a few fresh formats. Reinstalls, Stripping down to a new session with empty package, having a completely new map... I can now say it doesnt happen when entering any zone... only when entering certain zones....
I am wondering if there might be a problem with my mapper file, I have tried the repair utility but it didnt make a difference.
I would give just about anything to have this problem fixed.... I have had the problem since I started using Cmud and from what others are saying, they are not having the problem, but I have a few friends locally that have the same problem, so either people are lieing to me on here or a good number of people using cmud simply dont use the mapper heavily like i do.

I realize different environments can cause different problems, if any Techs would like a copy of my map DB I can do that, if you would like me to make a video of it happening.. I can do that as well..
LET ME KNOW what you need from me to figure it out, and I will gladly do it and be happy your helping me.
Just to Clarify I can reproduce this problem every time, I just run to particular zones and it happens.
Also this very same map file has 0 problems when using it in Zmud, however Im not even certain its a problem with the map file.. but I really have no idea WHAT the problem is. |

Question: Do you have scripts written into the room properties box? If so, remove the raw script, put it an alias and replace the script with the alias. That will remove a lot of your speedwalking crashes. Better yet, donīt put anything in the room/walk script sections. Some of the map crashes you can ignore and continue (though, not a nice practice).

I wish that were my problem, I would be leaping for joy! hehe, no scripts in the three zone entrance rooms that I have been using to reproduce this crash as I test over and over and over.

I have a room like that, I just live with it in the hopes that the mapper re-write will solve the problem. Also check for weird things like the word "All" in your script boxes. And it doesn't have to be the target room that is crashing the client. The room may lie along the path to either of those 3 rooms. Unless, of course, you are saying that if you are next door and moving into one of those rooms, the client will crash. In which case it is news to me, usually the crash will be caused by a room along the generated sw from the mapper. Now, I run in fast mode so that I can't tell which room it is, maybe I'll try running in slow mode see if I can catch it.
