Interestingly enough when I had my meltdown (see posted note) the icon was fixed on Lua(!). However, I was able to switch it off.

Yes, this is true and was actually done on purpose. You need to either use the Ctrl-` key or the menu option. Too many "novice" users were accidentally getting into Lua command line mode and then getting confused. That's also why I added the Lua prompt next to the command line and tried to change the color of the Lua command line. It is really a very advanced feature and there are still plenty of ways to activate it for people who really need it.
