CMUD [2.18] malfunctions after saving empty DB variable |
1) Open CMUD to a blank session in the usual manner.
2) Click on the variables button to bring up the package editor
3) Click new to create a new variable
4) In the name field enter test (or anything else for that matter)
5) In the Type field switch to Database record
6) For the first record Enter Alpha as the Key and Beta as the Value.
7) Save the variable.
8) Hit the [-] button twice to delete the row we entered.
9) Hit Save
You'll get An error dialog box saying Key "Alpha" not found.
Iif you choose to continue CMUD is wonky after that; you can't create any new settings, if you close the package editor and reopen it that same error dialog box returns. |

You shouldn't be reporting bugs on an older version, especially in the beta forum. 2.22 is quite different from 2.18, and I'd bet that it now behaves differently in this particular instance.

So I should have posted this in the regular CMUD forum?

Maybe, or you should be testing the 2.22 beta to see if this problem still exists in the latest version as that's what Zugg is basing the next version on. I know for certain that there are one or two issues remaining with data record variables, but most of them have been fixed in just these last few versions.

I'm not a beta user, I found a bug, where do I report it?

Usually in the CMUD General Discussion forum. It's perfectly appropriate to post bugs found in the latest public version there. However, I'd also suggest at least doing a cursory search through the beta forum before posting it (even posting in the General forum). Someone may already have posted the bug and a fix could already be in place.
In this particular case, there have been several bugs reported in this beta forum related to the saving of DB variables Several have been fixed in previous beta versions, and Zugg has a fix for (we hope) the rest of them in the 2.23 public release expected in a week or two. |

Looks like this is already fixed in 2.23. At least it worked fine for me here.
