zMUD's been working fine for me, but every now and then it doesn't. I was playing earlier, and just now i went to open zMUD up and it wouldn't open. The red box that appears before the character list shows up, but then closes real quick. I never am able to see my character list or anything else dealing with zMUD besides that quick glance of the red box.

I really need some help, thanks!

One common problem is that Zmud uses two processes and sometimes when unloading itself it doesn't shut down both processes. Terminating this leftover process will reset ZMud and allow you to start normally.

That said, if you are getting the splash screen then there's probably a tab-thingie on your start bar for ZMud and the above probably isn't the problem you have. What may have happened is that the Character window's screen coordinates were overwritten with something else that forced it to appear off-screen. You could try editing the zmud.ini file, which should have something like a [Character Window] type of section with a list of properties. It's much easier, particularly if you don't use Global Settings, to just rename/delete this file as ZMud will simply recreate it from default when it can't find it.
