If you click the buttom to convert your string to a regular expression, it should convert it if the "Regular Expression" box isn't checked. However that's not quite how it happens now. It will only convert it if it is unchecked *and* you have clicked "Save" after having unchecked the box.

Procedure:

1) Create a Trigger with some text that would be converted if you were to click the convert to regular expression button.
2) Select "Regular Expression" as an option.
3) Save the trigger
4) Unselect the option "Regular Expression"
5) Click the box to convert it to a regular expression - This will fail to convert it.
6) Click "Save"
7) Now you can click the box to convert it again and it will actually convert it now.

The convert regular expression box should work if the "Regular Expression" box is blank, regardless of whether I save the trigger. It would seem that the convert box is doing some check to see if the "regular expression" option box is already checked and that is not being updated until the save button is pressed.
