New ETA for CMUD v2.21 |
You'll be happy to hear that I have changed the schedule for the next CMUD v2.21 a bit. Because of some upcoming issues that I'll talk more about in some new Blog entries later today, the month of April is going to be a bit complicated. And I didn't want people to live without an update for too long. So instead of waiting until the first release of MyMuds.com, I am going to go ahead with the 2.21 release at the end of next week (March 28th).
I will try to fix as many of the high priority bugs as possible in that version. There probably won't be another version after that until late April or early May.
I'll post any changes to this schedule in this thread. |

Well, today was a really annoying day. Yesterday I was working on some of the bugs that were causing corrupted label displays in CMUD, such as the Room Properties. This was because of a problem in my TransparentPanel that is used in many CMUD forms to group controls, but still allowing the background gradients to display properly. When I updated components to Delphi 2007, I had to make some changes in this TransparentPanel component, and that is what was causing the display problems.
But after spending a while yesterday trying to fix this problem, I discovered an annoying side effect in my "fix" today. In the settings editor (but not in any other form for some reason), clicking on a menu item would cause the entire program to hang. The DevExpress toolbar system goes into a loop processing WM_PAINT messages while the submenu is displayed, and somehow my TransparentPanel was causing an infinite loop of paint messages.
First I thought this problem was related to the DevExpress update that I applied yesterday, and I posted a bug report on their site, only to be embarrassed to discover that the problem was in my own code.
I think I have finally fixed the TransparentPanel component, but I still have a bit more testing to do on it. It's being a real pain. |
