#DIRECTION

Is there any way to have more than just single character directions to use with slow walk? Everything in the documentation seems to indicate that you have to have a single letter designating the direction. I play Gemstone IV which probably has a thousand different room directions - can't get very far with single characters. Any help is appreciated.

Nope. But you don't need to define directions for all of them, that's just there for the ones you'll use often. You can put whatever command you like in the "other com" box of an exit - if you had an exit to the north with an other com "enter portal" then when you pressed your north macro, you'd enter the portal and the mapper would follow you properly. There's a shortcut for this, too, if you type on the command like ">other com>direction on the mapper", so in this case ">enter portal>n" would create the aforementioned exit.

Does this mean that I have to use the mapper to map the MUD in order to do this?

You can put 'other commands' into a stored path w/o using the mapper, too. For instance, '.swn(enter portal)2e' is a perfectly valid path.
